Tangential vocab: I'm not sure how to render 嫌麻烦 in English but it's a neat bit of word.

And just to be contrary for a moment, I personally don't fully agree with the wiki on the word order – putting the 多 after at least some single-character verbs (e.g. 吃多点, 拿多一点) also sounds fine to me, though having 多 come first definitely is more Proper Grammar™-standard…

I'm now puzzling over 嫌麻烦 - does it indicate an expectation/suspicion of trouble to come or is it, idk, more general? Not sure if I've encountered it before, what's the kind of context you'd find it in, English rendering aside?

I like cats but ultimately can't be bothered keeping one because it's troublesome = 喜欢猫但嫌麻烦所以还是不养了

A goes out of their way to help B = A can be described as 不嫌麻烦ing by B or a third party (though not by A themselves because that'd be self-praise, faux pas crimes)

So kinda situations where you don't do the thing because it's 麻烦 (or conversely with 不嫌, you do in spite of 麻烦)? The 嫌 is more of a complaint sense (kinda like 嫌弃 in the "ughhhh") rather than suspicion/嫌疑, if that makes sense.

I'm not sure how to render 嫌麻烦 in English
面倒くさがりや？ if so, "lazy" doesn't quite cover it, does it. "can't be bothered"?

Yeah, you can put it as 彼は面倒くさがり屋です。= 他什么事都嫌麻烦，不会自己动手。etc so "can't be bothered" is probably closer, laziness might be implied but it's not the main point.

Lost Tomb Reboot, episode 32:

The Rebel, episode 38:
