I was gonna say 罢工不干了 then I realised… that's gàn instead wwwwwww

This gān also applies to various dry words (Da Qing's 小鱼干, dry ice being 干冰 in the common name, and I guess 干杯 for kanpai) as well as several other utterly unrelated terms: 干爹 for godfather, 干脆 for… something like "straightforward" or "might as well", depending on context? (probably one of those words easier translated to Japanese instead XD)

I had to look it up...ah, 罢工 okay！ well, today is your chance for gàn (or 不干 as the case may be) ;)

干脆 is one of those ones I keep on looking up and then losing track of. You might be right about the Japanese, the net gives me いっそのこと which is certainly not easy to say in English。。。
