I have absolutely nothing exciting to offer today except some nice and/or useful words which have come up in Chinese conversation practice: to wit 折叠伞, folding umbrella; 鲑鱼, salmon, and 鲑鱼子, salmon roe/ikura; 三色堇, pansies; 薰衣草, lavender (the flower); 浇水 and 晒太阳, watering and sunning (plants) respectively. Anyone who has a song or a nice phrase or something useful or interesting to post, please do!

• Music: Tengger's performance of 锦鲤抄 – he can always be counted on for bringing his own unique touch to even well-known songs (see also his covers of 芒种 and 热爱105度的你, both of which are virtually unrecognisable (in a good way) from their originals).
• Words: I only ever call salmon 三文鱼 LOL density of loanwords by regional use. Also funnily enough, I just realised it's 晒衣服 instead for laundry, even though it's also the sun you're 晒ing it under??
• General: Noticed the other day that Freerice (aka the UN World Food Programme's "answer questions correctly to donate rice") now has Chinese question categories! Including characters, phrases, and pinyin to English (jury's out on how I feel about that last one, though I do see its relevance). Available to play right in the browser, 大家一边学习一边做善事吧～

I don't know the originals, but I'm enjoying the songs you linked! 腾格尔 seems really familiar, but I can't figure out where I've seen him before... (My first thought was the Olympics song, but he's not on the performer list for that, so it must have been somewhere else.)

He's also appeared on Singer 2018 and more recently Time Concert? Among the stuff I've sorta-watched, at least.

I only ever call salmon 三文鱼
okay, first I looked at the characters and thought "三文, that sounds way too cheap for salmon," and then I pronounced it in Japanese and went "...oh wait...sanmon...salmon..." and now I'm completely confused but I feel like there's a delicious pun in there somewhere.
I just realised it's 晒衣服 instead for laundry, even though it's also the sun you're 晒ing it under??
Huh! Maybe for laundry the 晒 radical does all the work? (So many words for "dry" in Chinese, 晒 and 擦 and I feel like there are others I'm forgetting...

Freerice.com! I make my English tutoring kids do the English-to-English vocab one a lot, it's great. I wish they had a wider range of Chinese levels available, but it's a neat start.

Wikipedia notes 三文 as a Cantonese 音译, which does check out (thanks grayswandir for pointing out the existence of Canto audio in Pleco LOL I only know 三 otherwise).

Suddenly remembered the existence of 晾衣服 – this is probably the more standard!correct answer, though I'd never use it myself…
