I keep making the mistake of thinking it means that in Chinese. It seems like the obvious meaning based on the characters!

According to Dora's comment below, it can also mean "passion" in Chinese. I'm inclined to wonder if one isn't "passionate about work etc." and one "throbbing ardor type passion," but no idea...
