I used to know this--Taiwan actually has three words for ice cream, one is 冰淇淋 like normal ice cream, and then there's 霜淇淋 which is like, frozen yogurt? I think? and then there's another one that's Taiwan-specific, I think for shaved ice, 剉冰 tsua-ping or 刨冰 baobing, which I just had to look up ;) So the "frosting" ice cream store is definitely using 霜 from 霜淇淋 🍦
