Since this week has been all 要, three versions of 我要你: Ren Suxi’s original version (多亏了 trobadora), Zhu Yilong singing (a verse of) the original likewise, Zhu Yilong again singing the genderswapped version in concert.

Speaking of Ren Suxi, I still can't make head nor tail of most of the lyrics in this song, but I really like it anyway.

That's lovely and haunting! Also I didn't know she wrote her own songs, awesome. (I can't understand most of the lyrics either, not sure what that 哩 is doing everywhere unless it's just a la-la syllable, but I like the way she plays with sounds.)

Yeah, I've been very ??? over a lot of it. But I find the playing with sound thing fascinating too, even if I don't understand what the lyrics are actually saying. It sounds great!

This is extremely random, but I recently learned that 峰, which I previously knew as "mountain peak," is also a classifier for camels. :D

Subsequent Googling has revealed that camels can also be counted with 只 or 匹, but 峰 really does seem to be quite common. And like... come on, if you can count camels in peaks, why would you not???

Mildly related only, but I just remembered that we kept calling the movie Cloudy Mountain 'Peak Boom' as a more literaly translation XD

...That movie title was precisely the reason I looked up 峰 and found the camels. XD I was looking at DVD offers and paused on that one because Zhu Yilong, and then looked at the Chinese title and went, "Wait, that doesn't say 'Cloudy Mountain,' though, does it? Isn't that, like, 'peak explosion???'" I'd never seen previews for the movie or anything, but hearing people mention "Cloudy Mountain" had given me a completely different (and much more serene!) impression of what kind of movie it might be!

Cloudy Mountain really doesn't bring across the vibe well (though I'll give them that there is indeed a mountain and there are indeed clouds...).
