The simplified form of the yan 言 radical always throws me off because I confuse it with 辶 haha

I have this trouble with 进 and 讲, which look basically identical to me, although with most other characters I'm okay. I don't know.

Ahaha I'm glad it's not just me—I feel like it should be easier in handwritten form, but those two characters are extra tricky for me too. I wonder if it's because both sides of the character have been simplified and the right-side components look completely different in their traditional forms, ie. 講 / 進 - I imagine it's the same in Japanese...?
