Oh, of course! I didn't even think of that. It's one of those characters I really wish they hadn't simplified, the 優 version looks much better to me.

Ha, I'm always glad for simplified characters because I don't have to squint at them so much. *g* (My standard font size is optimised for Roman letters, which means hanzi generally display smaller than I'd prefer unless the webpage is specifically optimised for hanzi.) Also, fewer strokes are always of the good IMO!

Fair! I'm biased toward the Japanese ones, which I often think are a happy medium between 简体字, which can be so simplified they're confusing (云, 发...) and 繁体字 which just have SO MANY STROKES.
