Give me some handwriting practice!
Feb. 15th, 2022 02:39 pmBecause yes, who even does anything off-keyboard these days… but all the same, probably good to not let my handwriting go down the drain completely! or further down than it already has LOL
So: come suggest some words or quotes you'd like to see handwritten! From Guardian or any other fandom/non-fandom sources, anything goes. The only criteria:
- Comment with the text and source if any (or provide a video link + timestamp if it's from subs),
- Not be longer than a few lines total, and
- Preferably in simplified, because I have, like, next to no experience writing traditional (but if you'd like to see me try then sure, I'm still game).
I'll write and add my own after work. (Which is being immensely uninteresting today, hence this to 解解闷 in an educational(?) manner…)
And of course, if you'd like have a go at writing too, feel free to join in! The more the merrier.
那就放马过来吧! 🏇

lol oh my goodness, you're so right. (Would you basically add something like 坚持 to make the existing Chinese into "keep calm and carry on"?) I looked up the actual screenshot and it's funnier than I remembered, he's quoting Zhao Yunlan to begin with... also 多亏了 I learned the counter for lollipops.

Date: 2022-02-17 01:06 pm (UTC)We actually had to do calligraphy homework like once a week at my elementary school, which included the correct way to do the stroke starting/endings that gives the distinctive shape you see in Chinese 楷体 fonts… though I've completely forgotten how, haha.
Would you basically add something like 坚持 to make the existing Chinese into "keep calm and carry on"?
I guess something like 坚持下去 would work? Or to be a little more constructive if less literal, 再接再厉 or similar.
