Not directly study-related but interesting: a brief autobiography of the early life of Rulan Chao Pian (卞赵如兰), the oldest daughter of my adored Chao Yuen Ren and a highly respected ethnomusicologist in her own right. (She inherited her father’s humor as well as his scholarship, clearly: “There was a young man from MTT called Hwang Peir Yun, who often dated my sister Nova. Eventually he became my brother-in-law. There was also another young man from MIT, called Theodore Hsueh-huang Pian, who often dated me. Eventually he became my sister's brother-in-law.”)

(Yep, I definitely prefer snow too! So much better than rain - it doesn't soak you through unless you really roll around in it, and sometimes it's even pretty. *g*)
