It's pio in Hokkien as well! (anecdotally, of the various dialects, Hokkien seems the most cognate-y to Korean* from my very limited knowledge, which probably has Historical Reasons™️ in language origins and etc)

(*even more so than Hokkien and/or Chinese in general vs Japanese imo, which in turn makes me wonder whether the wider Korean syllabary(?) has something to do with it)

I looked at the area where Hokkien is spoken. It's more in the South than Korea, but there must have been migrations at some point.
