wenella posted new photos from Zhu Yilong's studio, and in the one where he's eating noodles, I could read all but one word (the word for "garlic"), which made me feel "yay! progress!" - except I didn't correctly guess the meaning of the sentence. -_- Oh, well!

Which is your garlic word? I know that one as part of 大蒜, but I've never seen it without the 大. (I always remember it as 我打算吃大蒜, which is usually true anyway)

Now that I'm thinking/looking at it harder, I think I have the same experience you do, 大蒜, but I'm just not familiar enough with it (I've only seen it in my Drops app!) to recognize it as the same character without the 大 in front of it!

I kind of like 蒜 now that I'm used to it--you can see the little fringes of roots at the bottom, ready to be planted and grow more garlic... (/inaccurate both botanically and character-wise)

Yes, I think I was actually told this in some version or other when originally learning Japanese (probably because my Japanese professor was having enough trouble reading my handwriting already...)
