Since it came up in conversation, here’s 梦开始的地方, a sweet song featuring Zhu Yilong and 吉克隽逸 (I’ve seen her name as both Junyi and Juanyi?) among others. Also a couple of phrases new to me, 该来的就会来 (what goes around comes around?) and 眼睛都看花了, a delightful way to say “I’m dizzy.”

Date: 2022-05-02 06:02 am (UTC)Today's tune: Zhou Shen's duet of 调查中, which may be familiar to anyone who watched 开端/Reset! And also just a mindblowingly good performance overall.
Passing on a link from Discord – Readibu for adding pinyin and definitions to Chinese reading!
TIL 隽 has two readings (juàn and jùn) but I'm quite certain it's Junyi for her name. And I suppose I'd do 该来的就会来 as more of "what shall be will be" instead? What goes around in the sense of eye for an eye has the delightfully vindictive-sounding 善有善报恶有恶报.
眼花 is generally applicable for being cross-eyed x_x though it also goes for aging-induced Bad Vision (老花眼 aka… presbyopia? I think? in the much less colloquial English)
今天是我的生日!噢耶

Also, 善有善报恶有恶报 does indeed sound delightfully vindictive. :D

Date: 2022-05-02 10:46 pm (UTC)Everyone keeps telling me to watch 开端 (including at least one RL friend) and maybe soon I will...that's a gripping song. (Also, 眼镜太可爱了吧!)

Thank you! Added to the list of links etc. that I really am going to put together and post sometime soon.

各种各种谢谢,那该来的就会来 is almost word for word "che sera sera"... (善有善报恶有恶报 sounds like something Zhao Xinci would say and I appreciate it.)
用中文看花,用英语看星星? Doesn't work for old-eye 老眼 though.
生日翌日快乐!
