匹 is the counting word for "horses or bolts of cloth"?

Hah, somehow I learned each of those usages separately but never really connected them. XD The wordplay on "bolt" does make for a good mnemonic, though!

I never knew the cloth one before! (The horse one is also frustrating for me because 匹 in Japanese is the counter for small animals, cats or mice or, if you're being facetious, small children; horses and other large animals are counted with 体.)
