Complete Guardian Anki Decks
Apr. 5th, 2021 10:28 pmSo that only took me a year...
I made three decks out of
nnozomi's Guardian vocabulary list.
1) a Vocab learning only deck
2) a Hanzi writing only deck
3) a combined deck with both
The cards look like this:

Front Side of the Vocab card. The back side of course contains the translation (of both the word and the example sentence), and it pronounces the Hanzi using text-to-speech. Note: If you can't hear the sounds being pronounced, you will have to install text-to-speech for Chinese for your OS. Phones usually have it pre-installed (even for Chinese), but Windows needs a separate region/language for it, and I don't know about Mac OS.

Back Side of the Writing card. The front side lets you write the character on your own, the back side writes the character for you (and you can write along if you want). It pronounces the Hanzi both on front and back, and it includes an example word, because most Hanzi on their own don't mean anything (much) and are impossible to tell apart by pronunciation only.
Here are the decks for download:
The Chinese font embedded in the deck is 32MB in size. /o\ So I made versions with and without the font. Feel free to try it out: you probably only need one of the font-included ones.
Big (with font) :
Vocab Only Deck
Writing Only Deck
Combined Deck
Small (without font) :
Vocab Only Deck
Writing Only Deck
Combined Deck
p.s.: full disclosure: on my very old android tablet, the writing deck sometimes crashes ankidroid. It doesn't lose any progress, though (except for the card shown when it crashed). I tried it with a newer android phone, and it worked without problems.
ETA: I updated all the decks on 2021-04-17 (current version: v8). They now contain the "meaning" for all the Writing cards as well, which were missing before. Many thanks to
nnozomi for helping to add them. To update your deck, simply import it into anki, and it will notice that it's a newer version of the older deck and update it. Your studying progress will not be affected by that import.

Date: 2021-04-06 05:17 pm (UTC)Well, considering you made the word list when we only had transcripts for 6 eps, you must have typed off the rest on your own, right? I don't see a problem with that at all, honestly.
We can try uploading the deck to the site, but I doubt the interested user base is large enough to keep it there. (They delete all the decks that don't get enough downloads.)
Now clearly the next step is to contact Zhu Yilong and Bai Yu and get them to record the audio ;)
Considering they already did that, we just need someone to clip it. Hmmm. Not unrealistic, actually. And the audio is usually studio looped audio, too, so should even be usable for something like this.
BUT: I just started learning from the combined deck today and realized that a lot of meanings for the single characters are missing. I think I forgot to add those. It's not too bad, since a lot of them really don't mean anything, but there are some where it would make sense to add meaning. I can then upload the changed words again and everyone can update their decks (so you can already learn with the current versions, and the new meanings can be added using an import into the existing deck later).
Would you like to help me complete those? If I do it on my own again, I know I will take another few months... /o\
p.s.: If you find any other problems/errors, let me know and I'll fix them!

Thanks again--♡
