Since we've wandered into the wilderness of 了 anyway. (Why is this grammar point HSK1 level, I ask myself.)

Guardian (not very sure about these):
到时候了. The time has come (the walrus, or rather Shen Wei, said)
现在是什么时间了？ (What time is it now? I think.)
大家都是同胞，我直说了. (We're all brothers, I'm telling it like it is.)

My practice:
我吃冰淇淋了，你呢？
快点，火车出发了。

我从没发现“了”竟然有这么多用法，还觉得是个挺简单的字呢。现在总算知道了，呵呵 XD

我首先以为“了”是过去，但是当然不对。太复杂了（了）吧！

The use of 知道 了 in dramas finally makes sense! It's often subbed in ways I knew didn't work, but I wasn't sure what the 了 was actually doing there...

Yes! I feel like each time I learn (encounter) a new version of 了, there's some common line that finally starts to make sense (still a long way to go though...).
