第七天 rules (wow, we have been at this for going on a month, 加油咱们): no grammar today, post a link to a song you like, or a quotation from dramas or poetry or novels or anything old or new, calligraphy, a Chinese joke, literally anything Chinese-language-related you like and want to share.
Link to playlist of past songs 🎵
Because for one reason or another we could all use some extra energy, have two very silly minutes of Bai Yu having way too much fun and Zhu Yilong making heart-eyes at him (warning for some flashes). Also this song taught me the useful phrase 永不放弃.
(If you are someone who is kind enough to read along here but prefers not to jump into the grammar practice, it is also totally okay to comment only on this kind of post! Or not. Whatever works best ;) )
I have been 忙死了 with work and other stuff and haven't been managing to do anything on DW other than post here (which I enjoy), not even comment, 很道歉. I will get there when things settle down but I'm glad people have been conversing regardless in comments <3

Date: 2022-02-07 12:59 am (UTC)I've had No fear in my heart (not actually an English song, despite the name) stuck solidly in my head since my weekly Zhou-Shen-posting yesterday, go figure.
Also because why not, feel free to let me know what other kinds of novel-based posts would be interesting or helpful to see! And/or which scenes I should pick for further postage, because I have too many favourite parts to choose one.
ETA: also it's 初七 aka day 7 of CNY too so happy 人日! …which is mostly "day to have yusheng" to me haha.

I don't know from novel-based content at all, but would be glad to see anything that you'd enjoy posting!

Does Chinese have the 㐂 character? Very appropriate (although I'm posting a few days after the fact lol) in both 字面 and meaning! (Also now I know what yusheng is, wow that looks good.)

Also now I know what yusheng is, wow that looks good. It is very photogenic! And fun to chopstick-toss, as long as you don't have to clean up afterwards. Or recite the mandatory four-word auspicious punnery, which I can never remember anyway. Eating-wise it's possibly a bit of an acquired taste, I think, plus the flavour can vary a lot depending on what ingredients/seasoning you put in. We got ours from Donki this year (the very same ドン・キホーテ, except here they actually sell edible/fresh food, which I understand is a mind-boggling concept XD) which came with salmon sashimi, 10/10 yum.

Date: 2022-02-07 03:14 am (UTC)Have two tumblr posts talking about the titles of shows and how they might've been named in English:
Nirvana in Fire (more about english, the source of english-language titles, and different linguistic connotations of words than about chinese specifically)
The Untamed (much more of a breakdown of how/why Mo Dao Zu Shi probably changed to Chen Qing Ling (for the drama) and then to The Untamed (in English))
And, unrelated but fun, also have a Zhu Yilong song I like despite not having any context for the show it's associated with. :) 親愛的自己 | Dear Myself

Date: 2022-02-09 09:58 am (UTC)Vaguely related, I kind of understand now how 镇魂 can be tweaked to come out as Guardian, but for a while my main association with the title was with 镇魂歌, requiem, which also seemed totally thematically on point.

Likewise on both points ;)
