Don't ~~~, with 别

like 不要 only more so, I guess...
Guardian:
你别这样, don't be this way
别急,咱们先听个故事, don't worry, let's hear the story
别信网上的好些八卦消息, don't trust gossip on the Internet (oh dear)
My practice:
你别吃我的蛋糕,也有为你的部分,你吃你的
别骗我,我知道是你把邮件发送了
Also a question: as regards the Chinese Grammar Wiki pages, we seem to have just about covered the (old) HSK1 and A1 levels and to be moving on to the A2 stuff. Continue moving through the grammar points? Go back and repeat some of the points covered so far? Take a break from grammar points per se and do a general vocabulary word a day for a while? Something else? If you have an opinion/preference/idea, let me know!

Date: 2022-03-10 11:00 pm (UTC)I'd be more confident attempting to formulate sentences with vocab words and extremely basic grammar that I might get wrong (but that's okay if the point is single word use instead of grammar features) than trying to figure out some of these more complicated grammatical structures. (Which is a lot of why I mostly just lurk and read except on the "just share something fun!" posts.)

Date: 2022-03-11 04:49 am (UTC)I like the suggestion to mix vocabulary and grammar posts, but I'm fine with whatever!
I'm having fun trying to find examples from The Rebel by choosing random (more or less) episodes. It's been interesting to see which grammar points/words I can't find in The Rebel. Like age! They don't talk much about anyone's age. And all the 真 I've found so far are 真的 or 真是 or part of a compound.

Date: 2022-03-11 06:21 pm (UTC)Thirding the above opinion that the occasional masterpost (maybe monthly? I do recognise that it'd be a fair bit of work for you to add that) might be useful for easier searching. I've already gone through the posts several times looking for specific ones...

That's true! The only references to age I can remember are on paper instead of in dialogue, little glimpses of credentials.

A list somewhere would be a good idea, yes! I've been trying to tag posts with the relevant characters if nothing else, so hopefully the tags can be made use of as well.

Date: 2022-03-11 11:20 pm (UTC)...this could also be solved by showing a relatively simple example of grammar in the post, I guess. xD

Date: 2022-03-13 01:47 pm (UTC)I'm sorry! Absolutely not my intention. (I'm gonna put up a sticky post soon with extra clarification, but in brief, simple sentences are totally welcome and also make good practice/good review for everyone else too, often bringing up useful questions/clarifications as well. (Also the linked Chinese Grammar Wiki pages usually have fairly straightforward sentences.)
