Is it not interchangeable???? Though I think I hear "shou" more often, including in the Guardian theme song where they say shouxi for 熟悉 (familiar).

That was my understanding too - that it's just a variant pronunciation, maybe regional or something.

(When I first noticed that it was sometimes shuxi and sometimes shouxi, shortly after getting into learning Chinese, I counted instances in songs I knew. Which were not many at the time, but shou was definitely in the lead. *g*)
