Huh! I had to do a double-take on this because I had no idea you could say 听讲 in Mandarin. Actually, come to think of it, I have no idea when or how 讲 is used in Mandarin at all. >_> In Cantonese it's used the way Mandarin uses 说, and 听讲 means hear about/hear tell. Would not have guessed it could refer specifically to hearing a lecture!

Oh boy, that's confusing! I know I've seen 讲讲 for, like, talk about something, tell a story, as well, so it seems to have a variety of uses in Mandarin as well. Here I assume it's from 讲座, a lecture (a word I will never forget because I didn't know the word for lecture when I needed to use it in real life...).
