translator's note that jihua means plan given that Italy is 義大利 in trad, the first character 義 would usually simplify to 义, but the Correct™️ simplified for is actually 意大利 instead. Which isn't even a problem I had thought about before, before even getting into the actual vocabulary differences per-region usage.
Ah yeah, why translators still get paid to do ZH-CN ↔ ZH-TW properly rather than just converting the characters automatically. (When I was a translation manager these were the two big ones, plus very occasionally Hong Kong--I don't remember Macau, Malaysia (for Chinese), or Singapore ever coming up.) Also on a not completely unrelated note, that 妳 for 你 in the (very catchy) 我问天 you linked! I get 妳'd by my friend in Taiwan a lot and it always takes me a moment.
